GameShop Nepal was founded in 2021 by Sushant Poudel, after a firsthand experience with the risks that came with buying digital subscriptions in Nepal at the time. Like many customers, he paid for a subscription through an unverified online seller — payment was made, but the product was never delivered.
That experience highlighted a clear gap in the market: there was no reliable, accountable way for Nepali customers to purchase digital products online. Sushant set out to build one.

In 2021, the digital subscription market in Nepal was largely informal — orders placed through direct messages, payments confirmed only by screenshots, and little to no accountability if something went wrong. Customers had few options and even fewer guarantees.
